Towards High Efficiency CO2 Utilization by Glow Discharge Plasma

Plasma technology reaches rapidly increasing efficiency in catalytic applications. One such application is the splitting reaction of CO2 to oxygen and carbon monoxide. This could be a cornerstone power-to-X processes that utilize electricity produce value-added compounds as chemicals fuels. However, it poses problems practice due its highly endothermal nature challenging selectivity. In this communication glow discharge plasma reactor presented achieves high energy reaction. To achieve this, magnetic field used increase volume. Combined with laminar gas flow, leads even distribution working gas. Thus, very up 45% while also reaching conversion efficiency. These results are briefly explained then compared other technologies. Lastly, cutting edge efficiencies competing technologies electrolysis discussed comparison.
